We help clients from not only our local areas of Boise and Idaho Falls but frequently have customers drive from Rexburg, Pocatello, Twin Falls, and cities in Utah like Logan, Provo and Salt Lake City. It is an especially long drive for our Canadian friends from Alberta and British Columbia; who travel for long hours because they know they will find the perfect dress from caring stylists at Margene’s Bridal! For those unable to travel, we also welcome you to have a personal phone consultation with us, and ship dresses to cities in all 50 states and all around the world like Japan, Ireland, Australia, and Europe. You have the confidence in knowing there is a real store, with real people and real dresses, not a scam.
Together our stores in Boise and Idaho Falls give clients selection and current trending styles. We stock a wide variety of gowns from a vintage inspired wedding dress, lace wedding gown, boho chic wedding styles, to traditional ball gowns and many modest wedding dresses. With a unique hybrid selection of gowns to special order as well as in stock wedding gowns available for purchase to take home that day, it is easy to fall in love all over again when you find your perfect dress
For over 40 years, Margene’s has been helping women find amazing dresses to wear to their special occasion! Margene's loves brides, bridesmaids, prom girls, pageant contestants; in fact we love being involved in any formal occasion. Did you know, we have even dressed people to go to the Grammy's, Emmy's, Oscar's, Miss America and Mrs. World!
Since opening in Idaho Falls in 1980, Margene's has continued to evolve and be on the forefront of bridal and formal fashions. Margene, herself, has sat on numerous design boards including the Alfred Angelo Bridal retail advisory board. Her daughter, Joni Hansen Oakey continued the tradition of excellence traveling to design houses in Taiwan with multiple design houses. Jaylee Hunter Patterson continues the tradition working directly with design teams to bring unique and one of a kind pieces to our stores.
During the late 1980's, Margene's outgrew the location on 1st street and moved to Woodruff Avenue. Over the next 25 years Margene's continued to be a part of special occasions for women of all ages and became the ‘go to’ gown destination with people traveling from Washington, Oregon, Montana, Alberta Canada, Utah and Wyoming.
In 2004, Margene's Bridal expanded to Boise and brought Jaylee on as a partner. This gave brides coming from Seattle, Portland and other Pacific Northwest cities a closer option. Margene's Bridal of Boise is on the north side of the Boise Towne Square Mall, next to Applebee's Restaurant.
In 2013 our Idaho Falls bridal store moved across the street from the Grand Teton Mall to our new home at 1791 S. 25th East (Hitt Road). We are near Albertson's, Target, Men's Warehouse and Jamba Juice (everyone loves that place!).
In 2018 we made the conscious decision to focus exclusively on wedding gowns. This allowed us to increase our bridal inventory and expand our plus size wedding dress selection. We now work with designers who design exclusively for plus size brides and offer dresses in store up to a size 32. These gowns encompass the trends plus size brides are searching for.
In 2024 Jaylee acquired ownership of both the Idaho Falls and Boise locations and is excited to continue the legacy of Margene's.
